April 16, 2025 – Adega de Borba has just presented the new Montes Claros Reserva Especial Tinto 2016, a distinctive wine, limited to 2,500 bottles, which comes from the oldest vineyards in the Borba region and stands out as a unique option to accompany the special moments of this Easter.

Made from the Alicante Bouschet, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, on schist soils, this DOC Alentejo wine is the result of a rigorous process, which includes manual harvesting, fermentation in stainless steel vats with moderate mechanical treading, 12 months aging in French and American oak barrels, followed by 60 months of aging in the bottle.

In the glass, it has a deep garnet colour and an intense aroma of jam, ripe fruit and sweet herbaceous notes. In the mouth, it is smooth and elegant, with a marked presence of very ripe fruit, red pepper, spices and cocoa. The lively tannins with good volume and balance invite a careful and time-consuming tasting of the nose and taste to appreciate the elegance of a great wine.
