Adega de Borba presents the new 2020 vintage Senses Viognier

Ageda de Borba presents its 2020 vintage Senses Viognier, produced using Viognier grapes, one of the latest varieties introduced to the Alentejo region.

10 de September, 2021

The best varieties and the best soils produce the best wines. That is the ethos behind the Senses range, with its 4 single-variety reds, Senses Touriga Nacional, Senses Syrah, Senses Petit Verdot and Senses Alicante Bouschet and its white, Senses Verdelho.

100% Viognier grapes are hand-harvested early in the morning and transported in small batches to ensure they reach the cellar at the perfect temperature. They are then fully destemmed, crushed, and pressed. The wine then undergoes cold decantation for 24 hours and alcoholic fermentation, with the temperature rigorously maintained at 16ºC. Once stabilised and filtered, it is bottled and aged for 3 months. In Senses Viognier 2020, the oenological characteristics of the viognier grape variety are allowed to shine, creating a high-quality, balanced, and aromatic white wine.

With a ripe lemon colour, this wine has an intense yellow stone fruit aroma and fruity peach and apricot flavours, with a predominantly slightly acidic structure.

With a limited run of 3,000 bottles and an abv of 12.5%, Senses Viognier 2020 is the perfect accompaniment for grilled oily fish and well-seasoned seafood. This wine can be consumed immediately but can also be stored for up to 3-4 years.

Senses Viognier 2020 has an RRP of €4.65.
