Three gold medals, this is the fantastic result of Adega de Borba’s participation in the summer edition of the great German competition Mundus Vini 2021 – Summer Tasting. Adega de Borba thus continues to win medals in the most important events in the sector, this time in German territory.

Castelo de Borba Red 2019, Adega de Borba Premium Red 2019 and Montes Claros Reserva Red 2019 were the wines awarded with gold in this summer edition of Mundus Vini.
In addition to the gold medal, the Montes Claros Reserva Red 2019 wine was also distinguished as the ‘Best of Show Alentejo’, indicating that it is one of the best wines in competition in its region – Alentejo.

Castelo de Borba Red 2019 is produced from Aragonez, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet grapes. Wine that has a garnet color with violet nuances, an intense aroma of ripe red fruits and a slight spice. It has a smooth and balanced flavor, smooth, fruity and spicy tannins.

Adega de Borba Premium Red 2019 is a superior quality wine, signed by the winemaker Oscar Gato and produced with grapes from the Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, selected in vineyard plots in an integrated production system. Vineyards owned by Adega de Borba’s partners that contribute so much to the environmental sustainability of the Alentejo region.

Montes Claros Tinto Reserva 2019 is an Alentejo DOC, produced with selected grapes from vines with moderate production, from the Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah varieties. In the cellar, after malolactic fermentation, the final blend gained complexity, structure and richness with a 12-month aging period in 2nd and 3rd French and American oak barrels, in addition to a 6-month refinement in the bottle.
