Adega de Borba announces the launch of the new harvest of Adega de Borba ‘Rótulo de Cortiça’ Grande Reserva, a limited edition long awaited by lovers of this reference of Alentejo wines.
We recall that the first harvest of this brand dates from 1964, in a tribute to another excellent product from the Alentejo, such as cork.
A true ex-libris of Adega de Borba, the Rótulo de Cortiça Grande Reserva 2014 was produced with grapes from the most typical Alentejo varieties – Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet – from the oldest vines in the region installed on schist soils.
To enhance and elevate its organoleptic characteristics, malolactic fermentation took place in selected new French oak barrels, followed by an 18-month stage in a new barrel for wine-wood integration. After a gentle filtration, the wine was bottled and, for refinement, it rested calmly for several years in the cellar.
Garnet in color with red nuances, Adega de Borba Grande Reserva 2014 has a good aromatic intensity, highlighting forest fruits, chocolate, tobacco and toast.
On the palate it is soft, with freshness, strong and unctuous tannins of forest fruits and spices. Silky, prolonged and persistent finish of great elegance. It is ideal to accompany elaborate meat dishes such as black pork, Alentejo veal and game.
It should also be noted that this wine has already been featured in international competitions and magazines:
• Gold Medal in the Competition Selections Mondiales des Vins – Canada;
• Gold Medal at the Vinalies Internationales Competition – France;
• 92 Points and ‘Editor’s Choice’ in the North American magazine Wine Enthusiast;
• 92 points in the German magazine Meiningers Weinwelt.
