Adega de Borba Premium Tinto 2019 is a quality wine, signed by oenologist Oscar Gato and produced using Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes selected from plots cultivated using integrated production systems. Vineyards belonging to Adega de Borba members contribute greatly to the environmental sustainability of the Alentejo region.
Following rigorous monitoring of the ripeness of the grapes, the vinification process begins when they arrive at the winery, where they are destemmed and gently crushed. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel presses with mechanical treading and maceration at a controlled temperature of 22-25ºC for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in low volume stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged for 6 months in new French and American oak and chestnut barrels, then bottled and aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.
This red has a deep pomegranate colour and great intensity of aroma, with ripe red fruits, jam and sweet pepper coming to the fore. It is soft and elegant on the palate with prominent dark fruit, coffee, and chocolate flavours. It has a fine structure and a lingering finish.
