Adega de Borba presents one of the great novelties of this year: a new limited edition of Adega de Borba Garrafeira, the result of the excellence of the 2012 vintage. its intense aroma and the bottle with an elegant design label in golden tones.
The quality of the 2012 harvest once again provided this commitment, as this wine is a key product in Adega de Borba’s internationalization strategy, demonstrating the region’s extraordinary capacities for producing great wines.
Produced from the Trincadeira, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties, Adega de Borba Garrafeira 2012 comes from some of the oldest vineyards in the region, installed in infertile soils, with strict control of grape productivity and monitoring of the evolution of maturation in each caste and specific plot.
With a deep garnet color, it has a good aromatic intensity of very ripe black fruits, cocoa and toasted dried fruits. Its flavor is soft, with silky tannins of raisins and wild berries, full-bodied, but with a final freshness that lasts for a long time.
Adega de Borba Garrafeira 2012 should be consumed at 16-17ºC and is ideal with oven-roasted lamb, lamb stew and game.
Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels and French oak barrels, this wine, after light filtration, was bottled and had a prolonged aging in the cellar, to soften the tannins and increase the complexity recognized in good aging wines.

This wine has already featured in international competitions and magazines, such as:
• Gold Medal at the Mundus Vini Contest – Germany;
• Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles – Belgium;
• 92 points in the North American magazine Wine Enthusiast;
• 90 points in the German magazine Meiningers Weinwelt.
