Adega de Borba awarded in China with gold, silver and bronze medals

China Sommeliers Wine Challenge 2012

Adega de Borba has just been awarded eight medals in China at the China Sommeliers Challenge 2012 held on the 12th and 13th November. The wines awarded with medals are now exhibited in Shanghai at the Wine & Spirits China 2012, the biggest wine event, until the 16th November.
The Montes Claros range was the one which received more medals, two gold ones for Montes Claros Colheita Red and Montes Claros Garrafeira, and two silver ones for Montes Claros Colheita White and Montes Claros Reserva Red. Adega de Borba Reserva and Adega de Borba Premium were also distinguished with silver medals, whereas Convento da Vila Red and White were awarded with bronze medals.
“This is a very important milestone for Adega de Borba, because the Chinese market is one of the main destinations of Portuguese wine exports. The eight medals awarded to our wines are once again a proof of the excellence in our ranges and that Adega de Borba is increasing its prestige in external markets”, states Manuel Rocha, Adega de Borba’s CEO.
China Sommeliers Wine Challenge is the only event performed with blind tasting in this country, gathering the most prestigious Chinese sommeliers and international Master Sommeliers. It is organised during the China Global Food and Wine Expo.
