Adega de Borba presents a new vintage of the Cork Label “Rótulo de Cortiça”
Adega de Borba has a new vintage out for its Adega de Borba Reserva, also known as the “Rótulo de Cortiça” or Cork Label. The Adega de Borba declared the 2008 vintage due to the excellent quality of grapes that year that create the base of this landmark wine.
The ruby colors is defined by a red nuance and a fine and elegant aroma suggesting dark fruits, compote and white chocolate – the wine presents a smooth flavor, with a light astringency that is well balanced, with hints of fresh fruit and light tannins that lend to a structured and elegant finish.
The Cork Label 2008 is made from the Trincadeira, Aragonez, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties under the supervision of winemaker Óscar Gato.
The Cork Label 2008 is a D.O.C. Alentejo that is aged for 12 months in barrels of 3-4 year old French oak and exotic woods before it is cellared for 6 months in the bottle in Adega de Borba’s cellars. The level of alcohol is 13.5%.
Each of the 150,000 bottles produced of the Cork Label 2008 is priced at a recommended level of 8€, great accompaniment to rich meals such as game of lamb as well as sweets. The wine is ready to enjoy now or can be cellared for up to a decade.
Adega de Borba’s Cork Label is a brand with more than 45 years of tradition and is considered a landmark wine from the Alentejo province – for it is produced only is exceptional years since its first vintage in 1964 – and it has the greatest sales volume in its segment.
