Adega de Borba suggests the best reds at every Portuguese table this christmas

Three reds in a wooden box for this Christmas

Three ranges of red wines that Adega de Borba gathered in this gift wooden box: Adega de Borba Rótulo de Cortiça Red 2013, Montes Claros Reserva Red 2012 and Adega de Borba Premium Red 2012. Three distinct ranges from Adega de Borba with exclusive reds that will reveal the best from Borba at every Portuguese table during the festive season.

Produced from the most typical grapes in the Alentejo region – Aragonez, Trincadeira, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet – cultivated in the subregion of Borba, the wine Rótulo de Cortiça Red 2013 is a true shining star since 1964. With a deep well-defined ruby colour and red nuances, Adega de Borba Rótulo de Cortiça Red 2013 has a fine and elegant aroma with hints of black fruits, jam and white chocolate. Its flavour is soft, slightly astringent and balanced with notes of ripen fruits, and a soft yet full-bodied tannins and elegance in the aftertaste. To strengthen and elevate its organoleptic characteristics, the wine aged for 12 months in 3rd and 4th year French oak barrels and barrels made from exotic wood. It then aged for another 6 months in the bottle.

Montes Claros Reserva Red 2012 has a deep garnet colour. Its aroma is rich and complex with hints of jam, jelly and cocoa. Produced from the Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this wine has a soft, full-bodied and complex flavour with notes of black ripen fruits and robust persistent tannins that give it great potential to age. The final batch aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months and another 6 months in the bottle for final tuning. Different ageing stages gave this wine more complexity, structure and richness, making it ideal to accompany meat dishes and cheeses.

In the past four years, Adega de Borba Premium brand has received various awards in national and international competitions. A good example of that quality is Adega de Borba Premium Red 2012, produced from the Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This wine has a well-defined garnet colour, greatly intensity of red ripen fruits, jam and ripen pepper. Its flavour is soft and elegant with a highlight on black fruits, coffee and chocolate. Its structure is the main characteristic of wines from the Premium range of Adega de Borba, as well as the final and persistent finish. It aged for 6 months in new French and American oak barrels and it was bottled for a final ageing in the cellar and another 6 in the bottle.

Recommended retail price for the gift wooden box is 28.99€.
