Adega de Borba was awarded the prize of “Cooperative Winery of the year 2013”

Prize awarded for the fourth time by Revista de Vinhos

Adega de Borba has just been awarded the prize of “Cooperative Winery of the year 2013” in the 2013 edition of the Best of the Year by Revista de Vinhos. The winery was distinguished by its “boldness, proactive management, vision and a well-tuned team of experts, (…) a case study that should be read by other cooperatives.” The ceremony was held on Friday, 14th February in Campo Pequeno, Lisbon, and was attended by 800 specialists from the wine and food sectors.Destaque_Premio

This acknowledgement is based on a very strict evaluation performed by Revista de Vinhos throughout 2013 which included visits to the wineries and vineyards, as well tasting of the wines and evaluations.

According to Manuel Rocha, Adega de Borba’s CEO, “This is a priceless recognition and it means that we have yet even more motivation to keep on doing the best possible and offer our consumers products with an outstanding quality at the best affordable price.”

This was the fourth time Revista de Vinhos has awarded Adega de Borba with the title of “Cooperative Winery of the Year” after the 2003, 2005 and 2008 editions.

The ceremony for “Best of the Year” by Revista de Vinhos is held every year and its goal is to promote what we best do in the wine and food sectors. In this edition, by the 17th year in a row, Revista de Vinhos has selected the “Wine Oscars in Portugal”, awarding prizes to individual people and institutions who and which marked off during 2013. Apart from these prizes, others are awarded to wines according to three different categories: “Excellence Prizes” for the best Portuguese wines in terms of absolute quality; “The Best in Portugal” for the best whites, reds, sparklings and fortified in each different Portuguese wine region; and the “Best Buy” for wines with the best quality/price ratio.

Adega de Borba Grande Reserva 2009 was awarded the prize of “Best in Portugal in 2013” and “Best Buy 2013”, Adega de Borba Red 2011 and Senses Touriga Nacional 2011 received the prize of “Best Buy 2013”.
