Spring has arrived to the vineyards. The sun – though yet a bit shy – has allowed the shoots of the grapevines to blossom. And so the vegetative rest of the grapevine – that lasted for the winter – has come to an end.
This year the months of the fallow land were characterized by cold weather and rain. The budding started a bit later than usual. It doesn’t really cause any drastic problems on the plants, since the grapevine is a “special” plant which usually recovers fast.
During this stage called “budding” the vegetative state begins. It will end in the end of August, when the harvest is performed. At that stage we can see the growing of the green vine shoots from the fields.
