ADEGA DE BORBA PRESENTS ITS WINE SELECTION IN LUANDA (ANGOLA)
International Release of the New World Wine Adega de Borba Premium
Adega de Borba launched its new Adega de Borba Premium at an event in Luanda, Angola on December 7 at the Convention Hotel of Talatona. The Adega de Borba brand, one of the winery’s top sellers, has just been enriched with the launch of a new D.O.C. Alentejo red as the top-of-the range: Premium 2006 – a wine crafted by winemaker Oscar Gato and produced with grapes varieties Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon from the finest old growth vines of Borba.
This new Premium Adega de Borba had a production of 30,000 bottles, has an alcohol content of 14% and is perfect to accompany rich foods such as roasted and grilled red meats or artisanal cheeses. Ready to drink the day you buy it, this Premium 2006 can age in a cellar as well over a handful of years.
During the kick-off dinner, the winery presented its Adega Borba 2009 Rosé, White Adega Borba 2009, Adega de Borba Premium 2006, Cork Label Reserva 2005 Red and a Liqueur.
After finding success in Brazil, China, USA, France and Luxembourg for its wines of the Alentejo region, Angola was a natural next step. Portugal and Angola share a cultural and historical bond.
The Luanda event marked a new high point of the expansion of the Adega de Borba brand in the Angolan market “… to the Adega de Borba, Angola is a special market, so with our investment plan and promotional activities in this country we will build an increased awareness and greater consumer experimentation,” explains Manuel Rocha, CEO of Adega de Borba. “We are dealing with wines that represent the excellence of “terroir” of the Alentejo demarcated region. Borba wines show their character through both the more traditional varieties and others with a more modern and irreverent approach. I am quite optimistic that this will be highly appreciated by consumers in Angola. ”
