Having hot summer days and nights in mind, Adega de Borba has just launched two new DOC wines, a white and a rosé, from the 2014 vintage. These two new vintages will surely help you get by the heat of the Mediterranean summer.

For those who truly appreciate young wines, Adega de Borba Rosé 2014 has a balanced flavour full of youth and freshness, aromas of wild berries and a bittersweet finish. The intense notes of blackcurrant and red plums combine perfectly with shellfish, grilled fish and white meats. It is also a great choice to serve as an aperitif. The Aragonez and Syrah grapes where harvested manually to allow a good temperature at their arrival to the winery.

With an intense rose colour, Adega de Borba Rosé 2014 went through a very peculiar maceration process: 12 hours in stainless steel vats at 10ºC. After the sangria and the soft pressing, the must fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 15ºC. The wine went through cold stabilisation and final filtering and was finally bottled in order to preserve the fruity flavours and the wine’s fresh persistence.

The grapes used to produce Adega de Borba White 2014 were harvested in the end of August following the maturation of the grapes every morning, so as to maintain their freshness. The must, which drips off without pressing, cleared for 18 to 24 hours at a constant temperature of 18ºC for 14 days. The bottling was performed after the winter.

Produced from the Antão Vaz, Arinto and Roupeiro grape varieties, this nectar from the Alentejo has a well-defined citric colour. It has a good aromatic intensity with notes of tropical and citrus fruits and is the perfect choice to serve as an aperitif or to pair with shellfish, seafood, grilled fish and white meat.

Both wines are to be served at 8-10ºC.
Recommended retail price for Adega de Borba Rosé 2014 is €2.99.
