It appears that 2013 will be remembered by its quality and quantity in terms of wine production. We started the harvest on the 28th of August – it’s going well – and it should be finished in the second week of October, so it is a bit early to be 100% sure about the outcome. For the time being, what we see looks promising.
Let’s hope São Pedro will be the joy of São Martinho.
During the summer we had hot days, no rain whatsoever, which allowed us to see a nice maturing of the grapes. Plagues and diseases were not seen anywhere on the vines and the fruits are arriving to the winery in good conditions.
The white varieties have already been harvested, as well as the most precocious reds. The first wines produced are characterised by a good freshness and ripeness with strong notes of fruits both in the aroma and taste.
