We’re in the Spring Festival and with it, the wonderful colours start to pop. The fields are filled with joy and new tones which take over the life on the vineyards. The plants are starting to abandon the brownish colour from the winter, now replaced with vivacious shades of green.
At Adega de Borba the budding was homogenous among the vines. Now, the shoots – the green branches – provide the land with their magnificent colour, typical from this season. Fruitification has already begun, and with it, the flowering which will turn into bunches and berries.
This year – as it happens traditionally in the Borba region – the blooming of the vine happened in the last week of May. This is an extremely important period as its characteristics will then allow us to decide the productivity in June.
The Alentejo region is always worth visiting, but it’s during these days that we witness the sun and the pure nature walk hand in hand. It is a green sea of hope for good vintages. Why not complete the sightseeing with a visit to Adega de Borba?
