With limited editions in red and white versions, Havendo Tempo pays tribute to the philosophy of life of the people of Alentejo and to the time invested in each bottle, throughout seven decades of history.

In the year in which it celebrates seven decades of dedication to winemaking, Adega de Borba launches Havendo Tempo, a commemorative wine that symbolizes the value of patience, tradition and time as essential ingredients to achieve excellence. Available in the Red 2021 and White 2023 versions, this special edition reflects the spirit of the region and the knowledge accumulated over generations.

Havendo Tempo is more than a wine: it is a tribute to the way people live and work in Alentejo, with calm, attention to detail and respect for the rhythm of nature. Produced from traditional grape varieties of the region and subjected to prolonged aging in barrels and bottles, this wine was designed to be enjoyed with time – and in good company.

“This wine is born from respecting time and keeping it for a long time,” says Óscar Gato, winemaker at Adega de Borba. “Each bottle contains the accumulated knowledge of decades and the attention we pay to every detail — from the vineyard to the cellar. It is a wine designed for those who know how to wait,” he continues, explaining that this special edition “carries time within itself, not only in the creation process, but in the very concept that inspires it.”

Havendo Tempo Branco 2023

Created from the Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha and Arinto grape varieties, it has a greenish citrine colour, aromas of citrus fruits and loquat and a tropical fruity, unctuous and fresh flavour, with excellent persistence. After fermentation, it aged for 6 months in French, American and brown oak barrels, followed by refinement in stainless steel and bottled in a dark cellar. Ideal to accompany fatty fish dishes, vinaigrette starters or cheeses with an intense aroma.

Havendo Tempo Tinto 2021

Fruit from the Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Alfrocheiro grape varieties, from old vineyards in Borba, this wine reveals a garnet colour, aroma of black fruit jam, spices, aromatic herbs and pepper, and a velvety palate, with fruity tannins and great elegance. Aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels and casks, with refinement in the bottle, giving it structure and longevity. Ideal with regional lamb, kid or game dishes.
